Just home Friday night from a couple of week ob holiday.... Of course I took lots of pics but the home computer has taken a dump so I am operating from the laptop...makes EVERYTHING that much slower....
We travelled from sydney to Perth on the Indian Pacific (apparently it is one of the top ten train trips in the world). I really enjoyed the four days/three nights onboard....well....except for the whineing French woman and her "boyfriend" we were near.....at one point the train staff and I were going to see her off the moving trin out in the middle of the Nullarbor ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nullarbor_Plain ) but she ended up surviving the trip.....just....
Bear with me as the pics will take most of the week to work through....
Stopped in "Cook" out in the middle of the very empty country....facing west...
Facing east....
A dingo that just wandered through town (population 4) while we were waiting for the air evacuation of an ill passenger (heart attack)
The Royal Flying Doctor service PC12 that flew in to collect the ill guy.....these folks save so many lives out here it is incomprehendible ...!!!
Cook's gaol cells...
A warning sign (from a stock camp I think) reloacted to Cook...
On into Perth and up the coast a little...
