I was surfing the Emerson forum and found this little gem?
What the hell is everyone copying STRIDER.

I'll stick with the real deal.

J

It's ugly...I think it's from somebody that wants a Strider but can't afford one. So he mutated a Livesay Woo.

S.

Mick, I guess it's time for some patents..

:( Go easy on my feeling guys!!:) Like I said I haven't saved up the funds yet to get a real one so what the hell! Sorry for the "fake" or "copy" Mick but until my ship comes in I'm left dreaming of the real thing!!!
Take Care Guys!
Todd

Try saving up for the Strider WP2 of even an MFS

Which stands for My First Strider.

Why copy when you can have the original?

Give the guy a break :) He probably had fun doing it, and it actually looks pretty good! It took me a while to get extra cash to get a Strider too, so at first I had to settle for the Buck version. Good knives are worth the wait.

I want a AR so bad I can taste it!!!!!!!! or should that be feel it:D
anyway, again it was just something to kill time. And thanks Stomper it was a lot of fun:)
Todd

I'd give the guy a break if he saved up $150.00 and bought a Strider WP2!

Say that $25.00 Livesay woo/Strider copy breaks, what happens if someone actually mistakes it for a real Strider? Not good! Personally I do not like copying or seeing someone copy others work.

JonLL,when you start paying my bills,I'll buy a $150 one to go with all my other $150+ folders. As far as the "cheap copy" breaking any one who has owned Livesay knives and used them knows they are well made.Yes I'm sure a Strider puts the Livesays to shame and please point me to were I said it was a Strider and not a Livesay.I'm not tring to start something on this great forum with you but stop pissing on my leg.If you don't like the changes I made to my Woo,cool.
Just remember I was just sharing a pic of a Livesay Woo that that in my mind eased the wait for a Strider custom, you are the one that brought it to the Strider Forum and ran it in the ground.
And not to take up any more of you good peoples time I'll end it with saying that we are all here on BF to share and learn and show off our
toys and try to have a good time.:D
Take Care,
Todd

...that anyone will mistake it for a Strider!!!

I will, however, give you credit for being creative! Personally, I feel no need to "spruce up" a $20 knife (and I do have a few of Newt's neckers' myself), but heck, if you're going to mess around with a knife, you'd probably want to do it with a less expensive one (like a Woo).

If you had a great time "sprucing" it up, and if it gives you satisfaction (while you're saving up your $$$ for a Strider), more power to you!!!

Besides, we all know how JonLL feels about the whole Strider/Livesay comparison anyways. :p

no I'm not kidding,I'd be glad to let you pay a few bills for me!!:D
No hard fellings JonLL,
anybody else like to pay off few bills too:eek: ;)
Todd

I think it's cool you're making your own knives- even if they do look Striderescue. I'm sure Mick or Duane could care less either, unless you start selling them. And whoever said it's ugly is wrong. It's plain-old cool.

;) Hey, if a guy has more talent than money at this time, more power to him. Especially if he's got the balls to show off his stuff, everyone has to start someplace. Good job on the knife.

Not my taste for tiger striping, but I do hope you get the Strider that you want sooner rather than later. Lord knows there's always another Strider that I want but can't afford (yet) too.

I can be rather opinionated at times, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, sorry if I did. If you love Striders (I don't care if you own one) please stay and hang with us ::hand out-stretched:: If a Strider is what you really want, I know it won't be long until you get it.

S.

It would be kind of hard to pass off a Woo as a Strider w/ a big ol' LIVESAY (his caps, not mine) stamped on the blade. Give the guy a break.

Nice job. Looks good.
Yeah, try getting a patent for bead blasting. Save up for a WP2 to replace your neck knife:rolleyes: Some of you guys are so lame:p
btw, TODD, did you just mask it and bead blast it? I'd like to try that sometime on a coated blade. Pretty cool.
