Howdy folks.

Is there a mechanism for trading here, preferably within the HI community? I am not sure my new 12” AK is really for me. I am a big(ish) guy with big hands and I think it is really too small for my taste. I would love to trade it for/toward something in the 15ish”, 16-20ish oz. range.

I think you'll need a gold membership to trade in the proper forum. I believe this is still correct, anyway. Having had a couple short khuks, including a 12" Bonecutter, I'd say you're correct. The handles can be downright diminutive .
