What does that mean (in the paid membership area)?

Well you do get to choose if BF sells your information. Remember when you fill out your profile they actually will sell your info unless you check the correct box.

Pirate level doesn’t really tell you anything (or did I miss it)? Only says it has its privileges?

I don’t recall seeing anyone with the “pirate” level of membership, but then again , I don’t get around much in other sections here.

Investing in pornography is a bum deal

I agree. I never really cared much for looking at something that I can't touch... However, the picture of Dolly Parton my dad sent to me while I was in USMC Boot Camp was appreciated. But she got taken away from me.
I also wondered what the "privilege" was.

For 1000 bucks it better turn into 2000 bucks or do something more than just look good!!!

I keep renewing my gold membership, but something like the lifetime version which costs more than 20 annual renewals doesn't make sense for me. We don't know what Blade forums or even the internet will look like in 20 years.

I agree with you there.
Most places I am familiar with offer a lifetime membership at 5-7 times the yearly rate. In the old days that was the equivalent of 10-15 years if you figured accrued interest.

Pirate is $1,000 for only two years. It's the one that "has its privileges".
You're right, I missed it was only the "pirate" level that "has it's privileges". Interesting no other comment. I'll be interested to read the reply from Cougar Allen to see what those privileges are. Stacy: Thanks for contacting him about this.

I googled the question and came up with three or four old threads asking the same question.
Moose, a moderator back then said it was like getting Platinum ++, more pics, more messages, etc.
It is for those that want to give back to the site for the good they get from it (I am loosely paraphrasing here).
Maybe we will get a definitive answer, or maybe not.
