Today we celebrate the 247th year of the Declaration of Independence.

The first line of the second paragraph is iconic.
We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,
that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness—-
John Adams wanted July 2nd, the day Continental Congress voted for Independence.
The written Declaration of Independence was dated July 4th but wasn't actually signed until August 2nd.
20 years ago today (July 4th, 2003) I found this fella as a kitten along a rural roadside 10:00 at night. Named him Indy for Independence Day.
He is the kitten in my current Avatar. Shown here with a 196 Mini Alpha Hunter, also a 2003 model. My life has been blessed with many wonderful companions, both cats and dogs.
