It really makes me wish for an elementum XL...I think its technically a gravity knife (please correct me if I'm mistaken) so I'm a little cautious about carrying it.I've owned a couple of Civivi's that were nice but didn't really click. I really liked the look of the Elementum but I don't care for a flipper so I decided to grab the button lock version. Got it in yesterday and I'm impressed.

When they announced a new elementum I was so excited!! Then I saw "mini"....lol

That type of finish usually doesn't scratch up so much as slowly wear a bit, often what looks like scratches are just foreign material that can be cleaned off.got my black g10 with black stonewash blade put a real nice mirror polish on the edge and it looks amazing. Will the black stonewash scar up with use if so I'll leave it on my desk and carry the black marble damascus I also got.
Hi Friend,Customer's satisfaction has always been our top priority.May we know which dealer did you order the knife from? Would you mind sening us an email to service@civivi.com,our after-sales team will be happy to help you and take a check for you.picked this one up over holiday sales as I wanted a 14c28n blade and the longer length were a more attractive option than the new elementum II. First experience with a CIVIVI knife and was unfortunately quite disappointed. First thing I tried after unboxing was test the fidgety butter smooth action that you see on youtube reviews of their knives. Button was a bit "tight" and when depressed, nada. blade didn't drop. Required more assistance opening with two hands than the typical triad-lock folders from cold steel. Almost a choppiness movement of the action. Examined the knife and saw the pivot screw black finish did have a bit of wear in the screw head. Culprit was most likely an overtightened pivot screw out of the factory.
Took my screw driver with hollow ground t8 bit to attempt to loosen. Using light amount of pressure that I'm used to using to disassemble my cold steels, the screw did not budge one bit. Now I'm familiar with breaking free stuck and seized bits from factories either over torquing or applying too much thread locker to their fasteners when field stripping brand new firearms to do an initial clean/inspection/lube. This was definitely stuck on there good. unfortunately due to the recessing of the screw head into the g10 and liner, PB blaster is not able to effectively work its way into the threads. Due to the g10 grip material, torching the screw was out of the question as well as using heat guns that heat the entire section. I used the popular method with gunsmithing in using a fine tip soldering iron to apply more concentrated heat to just the screw head. Screw still did not budge one bit. Despite using hollow ground bit and even trying some teflon tape to add some additional grab something is completely messed up with this pivot screw.
Not sure there was any metal shavings or cross threading going on when the factory tightened down this thing. The next step going forward would require drilling into the screw head and using a screw extractor in hopes of either breaking the screw free, or completely snapping the screw head off of the shank and slide it out the barrel end and request a replacement barrel and screw under warranty. I'm also unsure if the overtightened pivot may have done any damage to the bearings or the mating surfaces of liner and blade. Video shows condition of the knife before I attempted to loosen the pivot.
I want to add that I am in Canada so getting replacements are servicing isn't as easy as being south of the border. I'm also curious whether CIVIVI shipments to Canada are a bit more tight than normal (but not to the extent of the knife I received) in order to prevent it's ability to be flicked open with minimal effort to avoid the possibility of CBSA classifying the knife as a gravity/centrifugal knife and blocking its import. Our knife laws are pretty stupid. Only business are legally allowed to import folding knives.

Wanted to update that while customer support originally wanted me to ship the knife to our Canadian service center at my cost, they are going to cover the repair shipping costs after understanding that it was a brand new knife with a factory defect and not an actual user-caused issue. I have put in an order for a button lock brazen, clavi, and vision fg with a Canadian retailer based on the product support I've received from this companyHi Friend,Customer's satisfaction has always been our top priority.May we know which dealer did you order the knife from?
