🤔 If Green Linen Micarta Changes Colors, Is It Still "Green Linen" Micarta???

Sorta like that tree falling in the woods...

So, I've discovered that my Busse & SRKW with that sweet old school green linen is changing colors now that most of these are or approaching 15yrs of age. While I do admit a bit of sadness to see the green change away, I have to admit that the colors changing in are pretty darn cool! Wild stuff...

I also included a pic of a Dozier knife as an example of a different micarta color change- its handle is natural micarta, was tannish, & it's also about 15+ years old.. It's turning red

Anyone else noticing these changes with your older linen handled green linen Busse's & 'Kin? I'd love to see some others, so please snap a shot & post it up here

Got any before pics? I can’t tell what’s what. Some of those look like snakeskin and the vex looks like maroon.

The best comparison shot is the Sus Scrofa. Tigerhide canvas is on the LE above it, and vvv is an old PB compressed shot of them when I got them. The same SS is in the middle

Ahhhhhh Busse green linen.

My undisputed favorite, yet elusive handle material. It also has a noticeable texture difference. Almost like a smooth sticky texture feeling. Love it.

Jaxx. Per our old conversation on this Im exposing one of my green linen active duties to UV/sun light on my window ledge for the next few months and see if any change. I’ll do a direct comparison to the exact same model that is a Safe queen and stored airtight.

From a little research, it seems the lighter fibers they use in the green linen is prone patina/change over time as the resins age. UV exposure can accelerate this.

I prefer the simpler look of the micarta on the swamp rat in the op, the non textured handle shape too.

At the risk of being pelted with stones, I love busse but I sometimes wish they made more straight forward handle shapes.
