These are two that I just finished up. These are christmas presents for my brother in university who was complaining about not having any good knives to use (this should quiet him down a bit - if it's possible to quiet down an engineer). The chef has a 7.5" blade length with black canvas micarta over red spacer material and 1/4" ss pins. The utility has a 3.5" blade length with nickel silver bolsters and pins. The handle is a highly figured piece of ironwood. Both blades are made from 0-1 that I differentially heat treated (approx. Rc 59 @ edge) and mirror polished. Yes I know the photography sucks (I'm working on it - any advice much appreciated).

Let me know what ya think

I think that is a great looking pair of knives!!! Thye have graceful lines and look like they would be very handy. The handle designs look like they would be very comfortable in a wide range of positions.

What stock thickness did you use on the chef's knife?

Thanks knifetester! Stock thickness is 1/8" but I also like to use 3/16. I just find that using the thinner stock gives me better balance on larger blades (not quite as front heavy).

that chef's knife is wicked. it has an awesome belly. be careful.
wow. only a custom knife such as your chef can reach into the future.
big knife companies will never get there. hahahha:D
keep doing what you are doing.
