Havn't been around here much for awhile, but did finish this up fairly recently for an Elk hunting trip. Alas, I wasn't able to test it out! Blade is 6 1/2" forged from 1" 0-1 drill rod, differentially hardened, Rc 59 at edge, brass guard and pins, and stabilized karagana wood mortised tang handle. It did originaly start out as a full tang integral (I was trying for a Little Hen style), but with a mistake here and there, it developed into this! Thanks for looking,

From the top view. My apologies for the less than clear photos, but I took them in the sticks while hunting and havn't had time to do any good ones.

Way Cool Clint! I love the shape and overall desighn. Looks like it would be very tough at the gard blade joint

Clint, that is AWESOME troubleshooting. love that knife. I also have some O-1 drill rod waiting to be used in a similar fashion. The whole knife looks bull-tough and that karagana wood is beautiful. Do you know much more about what it is, where from etc ? Jason.

Thanks fellas. Jason, Karagana (I'm not even sure I've spelled it correctly) is a almost a bloody weed around here! It's a fairly thick bush that grows on every farm and field in Western Canada. A couple of my fello knifemakers up here sent some of it down to K@G for stabilizing just to be different, and it does turn out fair nice, I think.

Gotta disagree with ya on that one! Fair nice doesn't compliment that excellent wood grain near enough. Great looking camp knife.

Very nice, Clint. Looks like a great worker and that wood it just too cool. I'm gonna have to see about getting some of that stuff. I was lucky enough to get a knife from Clint in the last Knife-in-Hat trade. That one was also real nice but, this one's a beauty. Nice job!

It was 1" round drill rod to start. Squeezed out the big parts on the press and forged the blade.
