0000 steel wool

Hey, the info that comes with winkler knives with the caswell finish says that the finish can be hastened with 0000 steel wool. Has anyone done this and will this make it rust faster or hurt the blade in any way? Just wondering. Thanks

Sounds like you asked the right person already. The only thing I recommend is to clean the blade really good after. Leftover steel wool particles left behind will begin to rust and you'll think it's your knife but it may not be.
