Fuji Slim Shot

Anyone get one of these yet? Comments?

Thanks,

Ryan

Logitech is supposed to have one very similar to this one. Price point was ~$150 according to the report on CNN I saw. I would like to know what people think of them too.

I believe Kodak has a similar camera. Haven't seen the this Fuji one though. If they are similar, then you will probably want to check the availability of consumables, namely the film. It uses a disc that has 12 (maybe up to 24) sections on it, each section has a small rectangle of film. Being small, the resolution is no where as good as your standard 35mm film, but it is usually sufficient for 3R prints.

Now the main difficulty is to find the film. It isn't as easily available as 35mm film, and many shops would not even be willing to order it in for you. I think where available, you are usually limited to ISO100.

Have you seen the new SiPix StyleCam Blink? Has 8meg, takes 640x480 or 320x240 pics, 1.5x1.5x0.6 inches, and costs $40. I'm planning to get one this weekend.

For $40 that looks like a winner ... keep us posted & maybe post a sample pic. Might just have to pick this baby up!

Logitech Pocket Digital Camera and Fuji Axia are both from sMal technology. I have been waiting for the Logitech to ship and it got put off a month to sometime in June. No idea on the Fuji, which also uses a removeable memory pak. Casio is jumping in with the Exilim line, a camera and - tada - Mp3 player built into the $$$ expensive model.
The Logitech is pre-selling as low as $101 check your search engines. I suspect it will go as low as $79 by Christmas but I won't wait.
All these cameras are credit card size and thicknesses aren't much more than a Toologic knife card. That does mean it can be hard to hold the camera still when pushing the shutter switch. The sMal tech chassis is supposed to use a newer light interpretation to prevent oversaturation of the image and bring out better detail in dark or background objects - as their propaganda shows. Can't wait for an objective test which will come months after I get one. Hope I make the right decision. It is only a 1.3 megapixel which is good for 5x7 prints on the inkjet, but none of these are powerhouses. Great concept teeny cameras to go in your PDA case.

I believe that Radio Shack sells them - when they're in stock!:( Wanted to buy one last Saturday and the clerk told me, "Sorry all sold out! Most of them were purchased by our staff as soon as they came in!"

Looks like a great little camera. Saw a girl in a pawn shop use one last week but didn't have time to have a closer look at the camera.
