Is on super closeout price over at the HQ... I have never honestly considered buying this thing, but it seemed like a good enough deal to give it a try. I had a starring contest with the screen trying not to pull the trigger, but I ultimately lost.

I figured since I posted about it in the other thread, I should let the folks over in KAI land know as well - I know they're a forum sponsor but I'm not trying to spam them since we have a lot of good forum sponsors.

How is this thing (I've had bad experiences with very good fixed-blades that had small grips in the past - so I'm hoping the choil makes a difference on this one)?

NG had it for $99 shipped, they sold out in minutes....made me :(

I told myself I'll buy one someday, I know I won't have any use for it (chopping tomatoes?) but its just way too cool to pass at that price.

If you look around you'll find some for less than $125.

As for the knife, reviewers seem satisfied with the small grips. I remain skeptical however, despite the choil. It just doesn't look like you can get a good a purchase on the handle, I can be mosdef be wrong ofc but who cares the coolness factor makes up for my qualms of this knife.

I will say this, the 0121 is the blade that got me researching fixed blades even more.

Gotta salute the designers of this wicked cool blade.

Dave had them listed in the exchange for 114.00 the other day - They might still be up, dunno. I ordered one from him instead of one of the $99 deals Ive seen lately (seen a couple). Even though I've never ordered from him before, I've lurked here a long time and he's as reputable as they come.

I hope I like it, Ive never held one, but have heard complaints about the handle being short. I bet I like it and will let you know.

(PS) dave also had blems on ebay i noticed too

*sigh*. Another deal that I'm missing. One of these days I will get settled in and have a job and I'll be buying up knives like there's no tomorrow. Patience.......

I don't have what I would consider large hands, but I do wear a size large work glove. I can get all four fingers on the handle. It doesn't hang out of the back of the hand, but I don't think there is any problem with leverage in my case.

No worries lad I have a ton of them in stock, well OK a couple hundred pounds anyway.

Man, I checked a bunch of places but didn't even think about NG. Same here on the absolute zero need for another fixed blade, but then again... I haven't really needed a knife for quite some time but that hasn't stopped me yet :D

I'll still enjoy this 0121 for the $125, but man I should have asked here first I guess :)

Welp, I got the 121 in the mail today. Initial likeability scale is a 7/10 - The handle is a wee bit short, but it fits my hand quite well! I really like the blade design and bought this for a specific purpose.

The handle is pretty heavy as it's a chunk of S30V - I'm going to use this baby, it's a tank as I figured it would be. I can't wait to get out and beat on this thing!

Whenever I buy a knife I never really need it period :D....this hobby needs therapy like alcohol, so I buy more :D....It doesn't help when Kershaws' minion aka Dave whispers sharp nothings in our ear!

I know where you're coming from brother, it really sucks. On a very different note I highly suggest you keep your blacked out OD-2, those things have long become a rarity and I deeply love mine :)

I love mine as well, but there's something with it that doesn't scream "keep me!". There's not really a demand for them like PM2's and XM-18/24's, and I kind of want to sell it to fund an Echelon.

Just my 2 cents, but I don't like the Echelon near as much as I thought I would. The "thumb stud" (if you want to call it that) is very slick and imo, not that great. It looks nice, but it's not good for opening on my knife. Your torsion bar might open easier, but my thumb got behind the blade trying to open it once or twice. It's very stiff is what I'm trying to get at - Couple that with the slick "stud"... Mines just too damn stiff.

It looks nice and it's probably one of the sharpest knives I have, but it's not as likeable as I thought it would be. Again, just my opinion. You might love it, just seems very hard to open. A cut from that thing trying to open it would go straight to the bone. I'm prolly gonna take my torsion bar out.

The reason why I like it so much is because It's weird, and I like weird things. I'm willing to try it out. If it doesn't work out, I can always sell it (or try at least) and get most of my money back for what I paid for it.

The handle really isn't as small as it looks. It's roughly the same size as the 0350 just thicker. Worth every penny in my opinion, especially at that price. Jump on that guys.

Oh it's definitely cool - Yep, once you get it in your hand you'll know whether or not it's for you. Dave had blems on his site IIRC - They were listed under the ZT blems, though.

Tell you what, I think the Echelon came factory "sharpest" out of all my KAI knives. It's razor, razor sharp. It's a toss up between my Ripcord and Echelon of being the sharpest... I think it took the prize from an old Treebrand Boker I have.

Yup EXACTLY the same experience, don't like my Echelon whatsoever. Removal of the torsion bar helps a ton, but for some reason I just can't connect with it. If there's one unusual Kershaw I wanna try it would be the E.T. :)

I wrote earlier that I wear a size large work glove. The width of my palm is size large, but I think my fingers are kind of short. I have room at the end of the gloves fingers, but it will fit across the palm. Anyway, I can still get my pinky on the handle. I don't see how having the handle any longer would increase the leverage I can impart on the ZT 0121

If you're dealing with blood and guts, it sure looks like your pointer is going to lose some blood.
