I have been extremely impressed with the qualities of Carbon V steel. (I know that Camillus produces these for CS) My Recon Tanto takes a great edge and is simple to resharpen.

How does Carbon V compare to 0170-6C? I ask because I am interesed in purchasing the CQB3 (large model) fixed blade. If 0170-6C performs anything like Carbon V, I will certainly purchase a CQB3.

Does anyone know for sure which is the superior steel?

I suspect the Camillus stuff would outperform whatever Camillus make for CS.

I think that Carbon V is the cooler name, much easier to remember, and has greater name recognition, but Camillus is definitly better than Cold Steel (the companies). I would bet the farm that the steels are identical.

Has anyone been able to test the CQB3 in terms of edge holding and ease of sharpening?
