0200 Thumbstuds

most kershaw thumbstuds are simply pressed in. with the right equipment, shouldn't be too hard to remove. welcome to the forums btw. if you have a ZT0200 you have a helluva knife to start the addiction with.

Thanks for the reply and welcome. How should I go about getting them out?

Edit: I'm about to just cut them off with a dremel.

i would advise against that. i repeat don't cut them!. just clamp it to a solid surface and press it out. if you wait a bit, someone who has removed them before will answer your HOW TO. but i am always hesitant to attack my knives with dremels (unless we are talking scale modding).

I attacked it with a dremel (no patience at all). It went pretty well. A little more sanding to make it flush with the rest of the knife and it will look pretty good.

Wait, can you post pics of the finished product? it would be interesting to see........ :)

I feel sorry for the black finishing on the blade.

Are you going to sand off all the black coating now?

I curious to know why the thumb studs bothered you so much.

Not bad! That turned out better than I had expected. Nice pics, too! Especially the third one...there's just something about the composure that attracts me! :D

Not too bad. I thought my eyes were going to fall out of my head when it came to actually seeing pictures of the "Dremelized" blade of your ZT0200, but it doesn't look as bad as I had feared.

However, both of mine are staying "as-is"...(At-least for now...:D.).

I like the fourth pic. maybe next time direct the light at the camera side of the blade (on the other pics), not the rear? ;)

It looks nekkid without the the stud! :D

I like it! It reminds me a little of the Shallot's blade shape......

Is it just me, or does the Gatorade bottle in the third picture appear to be floating?

Oh, its floating to me.

Also great job on the vanishing thumbstuds. The blade looks great. Curious? why did you cut them off?
