I was thinking of buying a 0300 knife, but I don't understand what is the deal with all the different brands.
Check this webpage out.

You will see a 0300 TAD (maybe Tadgear), a 0300-USN (unusual suspenct.net) and the normal 0300 with the ugly brown and green handle??? Well thats just my personal taste, as I've never seen the knife in person.

What are the differences between the knives other then color? WHy does it seem that everyone has a 0300 with the ugly brown or green color handle, when you can buy the 0300-TAD or the 0300-USN?? with the nice black handle??

Are all the knives made from the same place or are these 0300-tad and 0300-usn knives made elsewhere?
Are there any drawbacks to having a black colored blade? Will scratches be more noticable or the black coating come off?

They are all virtually the same knife, just different cosmeticly. They are all titanium framelocks with a G10 scale on the left side. The USN model has a dark grey(not black) G10 scale that matches the titanium side almost perfectly which is quite remarkable considering they are made from to entirely different materials. The green and brown scales don't come close to matching the lock side. Different versions of the same knife to appeal to the varied tastes of different people equals more sales but personally I'm with you, the USN model looks best.

Just as businesses can have their logo imprinted on gift items, some people like their favorite dealer or website to sponsor a unique version of a knife. We've had forum knives here with the BF logo.

The ultimate example would be an exclusive, where a dealer gets a knife model that no one else can sell, at least until he's sold his original order. Ordinarily this would be a unique handle material, but sometimes it's an actual knife design specially developed for them.

But Kershaw manufactures all the ZT knives, however they may be marked.

Esav is right Eddie, we do make all the ZT products.

Look for a lot of different flavors on the 0300's.
