A few weeks ago, I acid etched the blade on my 0550 and soaked the titanium in oxi-clean. While carrying it, i kept looking at it, and wishing it were darker. Last night i soaked the blade in un-cut ferric chloride, and the titanium in oxi, for 80 mins. The double dip really did the trick. I would suggest that if anyone wants to etch their blade at home, two long soaks in the pcb etchant is key for the blade to achieve maximum darkness. Some people dont like it, but to each their own i suppose. Blade was re stonewashed for 4 mins. before assembly as well.

Very nice. What was your method of stone washing? Also, instead one two dips in etchant what about ONE LONG soak?

Yes it's a kryptoglow scale. The blade was stonewashed in an industrial tumbler with ceramic medium, and i think that dipping the blade, letting it dry, and then dipping it again may help it become darker. I cant say that for sure though, considering I am very new to acid etching, and have only done 2 blades.
