I'm finally getting a nib zt 0551!! Yes!! Alright I'll calm down. Anybody have any positives/negatives on this knife? Any info is greatly appreciated. Maybe some pics to hold me over till tomorrow?!

I would recommend a fine or extra fine tip Sharpie, because that lock is going to stick for a bit(maybe a week or so) until it breaks in. Might also want to make sure you have a Wiha T-6 Torx driver, as I found opening to be a real pain due to the fact that my fingers kept pressing on the lockbar when opening, so I had the clip moved to tip down carry in order to block my fingers(but I believe that will "break in" as well). Other than that, prepare a big piece of wood for some whittling, because the only thing wrong with my knife is that I don't cut enough things with it:thumbup:.

Sharpie-check torques-check! I'm ready for this knife! Thanks. I haven't been this excited about a knife since I was 12 (27 now).

I've cycled mine a few thousand times I'd estimate and mine still sticks pretty badly. I have 3 now and only one sticks reall badly. So you might get one that's smooth as butter straight from the box.

+1. I have multiples, too, and all have been very smooth out of the box. So as with a lot of titanium framelocks, it's pretty much luck of the draw whether you get a sticky or smooth one.

I have a carry 0551 and a safe queen for later. I've carried mine for 4-5 months straight for about 98% of the time - the one I'm carrying is broken in and has virtually no flaws functionally. It performs like a $350 knife without a doubt!

I have had three so far. Like crimson only one has been a bit sticky. I even have some custom carbon fiber scales on one. Absolutely a favorite of mine. you just cant go wrong.

As far as the sticky lock I don't mind using a sharpie if I really like the knife. My sage 2 is that way idc honestly. Thanks for posting guys

I had to use Sharpie on my carry 0551 for about 3 weeks but it was only reapplied 2 or 3 times during that period. It works perfectly now without it.

Thanks reeek! Pics look amazing. What kind of camera do you have? Very nice quality pics

You'll like this knife. The ergos are great, the design is beautiful, the quality is fantastic, and it's both grippy and won't rip your pockets. Mine seemed hard to disengage at first, but you really do have to be careful about not pushing down on the lockbar. After I got that down, it was fine.
