did a light touch up last night on my 0562 and noticed that the blade has a slight recurve to it.
not much but a small part of the edge is not getting touched by the stone.
i hope this can be brought back to straight after a couple times on the corse stone just wanted to see if others seen this or just me
thanks

I doubt it's a recurve. Is it at the very base of the blade? like where the grind first starts?

pics?

yup were the grind fist starts its a little high
not much tho i didnt notice till i put it on the stone then you can see it
so do i just let it go away or hit it on the 320 grit till its gone ?

Unless it really bothers you, probably just leave it like that. Maybe chip away at it a little more every time you sharpen, but it's pretty normal, not a defect or anything.

think thats what i will do just let it go away over time but its edge last and last man going be a while lol
thanks bud for help

Yeah I wouldnt go hitting it too hard. Its very common that the area right where the plunge grind starts is not like the rest of the edge. It used to annoy me too but after a few attempts to get it to match the rest of the edge I find you have to remove a good amount of material to do so. In one case (not a kai knife) I swear I took 10 years off the life of the knife. But its also why i try and find knives that either have a sharpening choil or a design that eliminates that portion. In some cases like the bodega that first 1/4" of the blade isnt even sharpened at all. One thing to consider is if you arent actually reprofiling the edge you could touch of up on a strop which will maintain the look of the factory edge longer.
