Good morning gents! Anyone hear any news on the 0566? Been looking forward to this one for a while now. Thanks in advance!

As of now I do not think there is any further information other than the initial thread posted above. Due to some of the issues in the past, E.T.A. dates are no longer given. We will probably know more after Bladeshow.

This is one I'm really excited about as well. I got the money burning a hole in my pocket!

I agree with Cyo. I always felt that the 560 would be a bit to big for my edc needs, now along comes the 566. I can't wait until these hit the market.

Me too!

I think the compact size of the Zero Tolerance 0566 is much better for EDC compared to the 0560/0561 while keeping the same ergonomics.

Personally, right now, the handiest ZT is the 0550 (3.5" blade) even though I wish it was thinner. The 0566 (3.25" blade) will be thinner and shorter. Remember the back of the handle is actually steel not titanium!

I pre-ordered one of the Zero Tolerance 0566 a few weeks ago. I'm hoping they'll spring for a deluxe 0566CBCF version in the future reminiscent of the great 0560CBCF. That'll be so practical and uber-cool!

The video below shows it in comparison to the 0560 as well as other information like being available around 3rd quarter 2013.

ZT 0566 Specifications:

  • SpeedSafe® assisted opening
  • Frame lock, lockbar stabilizer
  • Quad-mount (tip-up/tip-down; left/right hand), deep-carry pocketclip
  • Steel: ELMAX®, stonewashed finish
  • Handle: Textured G-10 front, stainless steel back
  • Blade Length: 3.25 in. (8.25 cm)
  • Closed Length: 4.45 in. (11.3 cm)
  • Overall Length: 7.70 in. (19.6 cm)
  • Weight: 5.3 oz.

I'm anxious to see one of these in person. I always thought the 0560 was a beautiful knife but it just doesn't fit my hand well. I'm hoping the 0566 is better suited to me.

the 560 is real tank but the size doesn't really bother me too much, i'll stick with what i have already :)

I'm excited about this one too.

I think I read its going to be for sale sometime in the 3rd quarter.

There was a post on the ZT facebook page maybe a month ago to look for the 0566 early summer. That was the most recent update I remember.

Yeah, but... how thick is the blade? 5/32s like its big bro, or?

From one website I was to get the blade thickness as .156" which is 5/32. I don't know if it's 100% accurate...

I'd be happier with a slightly thinner blade, but I'm certainly not passing it up with the thicker one.

I'm excited for it. I love my zt0561 and 0560. Feel so good in the hand. I don't care about the weight. I carry guns all the time and knives weight nothing in comparison to those ;)
I pre-ordered the 0566 and I can't wait to get it

I'm glad if they ran it thicker, myself... But like the 0300 series vs the 0350 series, I have a hunch they ran it thinner on the 0556.

I have one on pre-order at BHQ. I really like the "bigness" of the XM18 3-inch and I imagine the 566 will be pretty similar in looks. My knife-buying has gone down to a trickle because I'm trying to build an AR-15 before they're made illegal. I don't even like guns all that much but figured if the gummint's going to tell me I can't have something then I want it. I think my next knife purchase is going to be a blem 560 so I can "wave" it. Wish KAI had licensed a few.
