Just for the sake of curiosity, are there any knifemakers who make knives that range from $1,000 and above. They don't make knives that cost less than $1,000.

I don't know any knifemaker who are that exclusive.

Do you know of any?

I suppose in order to command such a price for a knife, the knife itself must be near perfect or flawless.

Wouldn't you want the knife to be in such condition if it is going to cost that much?

i havent made a knife under $1,000 for 15 years, until this year. my interframe folders start at 1000 and have been this price for over a decade, but with material cost continually going up, such as pearl, i may have to raise prices soon.
this year i am trying to make some using knives in liner-lock construction in the 450-700 price range.

Golok. Im betting Lake, Hodgeson, Hoel, Busfield, and even Osborne, Gustaffson and Kious and the like dont make knives under $1,000, though i could be wrong and there may be exceptions. As an aside, i recently found Tim Herman's website and his knives are truly works of art, with the most amazing colors and engraving. I urge anyone who likes customs to check it out. I believe it was his website i first saw what a $25,000 knife looks like! :)

Well, this piece by Eaton costs US$80,000...I guess he qualifies!

Fred Carter, Buster Warenski, Ray Appleton, Bob Loveless, Dietmar Kressler...I think some of Reinhard Tschager's stuff is a tad under $1000, but it is well worth more.

Golok, cmon.....

You've got to be teasing us with this statement. You've been around the block long enough to know of Bob Loveless, right? What do you think, his knives are under this?

As you leave the using arena and enter the art arena it's almost a given....

I like this post, but it's an absurd question! ;) :D :p

You can add H.H. Frank, Michael Walker, Dellana, Michael Bell and David Goldberg to that list. I also think the knives of Ron Newton and Zaza Revishvili start at about $1000.00.

I guess we need to throw Dellana and her husband Van Barnette into the mix in this thread. I love their knives, and at the same time they are friends who I respect greatly.
