I want to thank everyone for their contribution to the Urban Survival Skills thread. A lot of good points were made. But I started that post as a precursor to this one...

I want everyone to show their best urban survival skill or theory. However, I want you to make a video showing your skills. The contest will be judged on your skills as an "urban survivor" and on your video producing skills.

The best video will get: An urban survival kit which consists of an ESEE 3-MIL, Maxpedition FR1 pouch and a few other surprise items. :)

So bust out your camcorders and share your knowledge. :thumbup:

The contest will close on March 31st.

I'm giving everyone a month so they can take the time to do it well (and if you live where it's still winter you have time for things to thaw! ;))

Bump,,,,hmm see hippy meets rat pack thread haha. I'm the guy in the dumpster . After pic I cut my way out with esee 5(couldn't pull myslef out after gorging on garbage). After I fought of a nyc rat(their as big as small dogs).;). In all seriousness , I like this contest . I live in jersey I should be a shoe in for win . Only problem is I can't think of anything arg.
 
No cam... must get resourceful. Will you accept rudimentary sketches in a flip book?!? I kid, I kid. Gotta find a camera. DO you have any other guidelines or is that the point, no rules lotsa fun?

I'm a filmmaker, so the videos will be judged on video quality (basically, take the time do plan out what you want to do and execute it well).

But the main thing is that I hope everyone will share their thoughts on urban survival.

No rules, just go for it! :thumbup:
 
Cool contest, if I can think of an idea I'll try to put something together!
 
I like this a lot. Can't wait to work on a video and I definitely can't wait to see what others put together!

For sure! I figured if I made the topic interesting enough and the prize good enough we'd get some great videos!
 
I'm all in for a 3-Mil and I bet everyone else will be to. The best part is this is a topic that in my opinion doesn't get quite enough coverage and in some circles even seems a little taboo. Some may notice I am a big fan of the E&E side of things, even though there is so much more to surviving in urban environments, that is my strong suite. Btw, found and subbed you a few minutes ago. Cool channel!

As much as I don't want the competition, I'm bumping this up to keep people interested. :P Really am interested in seeing the results.
 
The month is nearly half-over... I hope everyone is working on their videos.

(I'm just bumping to remind everyone, I'd hate to have to keep the prize for myself. ;))
 
Am planning a scenario. I fear I'm missing that "'Timmy" moment' to create empathy though.
