This is my first WWII and I was pleasantly surprised. It is much lighter (read livelier) that I expected. Even though it is supposed to be 22 ounces if feels much lighter.

Maybe it is due to the balance Bura crafted in to the blade. As Uncle Bill said, the grind is off some but maybe that actually HELPS the feel of the blade or maybe it is just my imagination.

I seem to like 16.5"-17" blades best. Maybe that is part of it. Don't know for sure the "whys" but just that I LIKE this K!

Now I am wondering why I waited so long to get a WWII.

Wow, that's a long time to go without a WWII! My RR WWII, also a blem, is one of my favorites, too.

I gots one of thems...

I find that the lighter ones work better for me. I've never been too fond of the shape of this model but it seems to work well for cutting stuff.

Maybe a 16.5 non chiruwa AK at around 20-22 oz might be a good find. :)

Or a pointy WWII.

I like to think I have the only pointy WW2 in existence, though I'm probably wrong.

The shape of the AK seems to have a rounded sweet spot whereas the WW2 ones are sort of flat. To me the average WW2 point looks like a tanto.

I fell in love with my 18" Bura WW2 (also a blem) after about 2 minutes, it is really too large for me I guess but all the same, its a damned fine blade (knife just doesn't cover it). On the down side, it means I am going to have to buy more from HI so as to provide a comparison.

WWIIs, usually 18" horn, are my favorite "normal" khuks. I pick up every blem I can squeeze in the budget. I probably have 4-5 now.

In fact Uncle Bill seems to know my tendancies also. A while back I bought a blem WWII, but a AK got sent to me instead. I sent the AK back and was waiting on the return. Then Uncle posts the UBBB for the day and he has a chiruwa-WWII in there.
Me: I'll take that chiruwa-WWII in exchange for the AK I sent back, if you haven't sent something already.
Uncle: I sent you an identical chiruwa-WWII already.
Me: Great, can I buy _this_ chiruwa-WWII in addition?
Uncle: Nope already gone.
Me: Damn!

And yes, the one he sent is a great knife. :D
