1/16 inch blade thickness?

Is this too thin a blade thickness for a hunting knife? Opinions needed. Pros and Cons...Thanks!
 
It depends on the material. If it is 1095 or another carbon steel with a good heat treat, that's fine.

Also, I know guys who have used fairly small Case fixed blades for dressing whitetail deer for decades without any problems.
 
I have used 1/16 inch 01 steel to make hunters and skinners with blades up to 5-6 inches long with no problems

Just remember to make sure it has a proper heat treat and temper and it should be ok

thinner blade stock is certainly a good performer as long as the user knows what he is doing with a knife. no prying, twist cutting or chopping techniques.--dennis
