It could just be me, but climbing into a plastic bag to sleep for the night seems like a bad idea.

As soon as I saw your reply I flashed back to Ron Hood talking about how he set up his plastic tube tents.

The set up was very warm as long as the fire was going good.

The super shelter is a proven winter shelter design. I think Mors came up with it?? Anytime I have seen it demonstrated it flat out works at creating a micro climate. I think even some big name TV survival celebrities used it on their show to survive Nova Scotia.

Great stuff! I have scored some big clear sheets of polyethylene from work and am itching to give this a whirl.
The amount by which the shelter ballooned is impressive!

The inside was very nice T-shirt weather as long as the fire was in flame. The edge of the fire was only about 18-20" from the window of the shelter.

I just can't get out and do stuff like that anymore. I'm glad that some of you can and do. That just looks like you had a heck of a time. Thanks for posting all the pics.

I agree, great job JCL!

Yes, that is all Mors invention taking ideas from many other indigenous shelters such as the igloo. And Lundin called it a Super Shelter to pay homage to the inventor and his mentor Mors. I tried to share some of that HERE. Lot of interest in the Super Shelter lately, great stuff.
