Having a hard time finding 2” square grinding attachments from anyone besides Ameribrade. I have their 2x72 standard grinder (not the fastback option that is available now). Looking to buy some arms for small wheels and whatnot. There seems to be hundreds of options in the 1.5” square size for half the price of 2” Ameribrade options.

Is there a way to modify the 1.5” arms to fit in a 2” hole? Like welding .25” bars to the outside of the tooling arms?

Or making an insert in the grinder that allows it to take the 1.5” arms? Something that is 2” size on the outside and 1.5” on the inside that slides into the grinder? Would need a slot or something for the screws to hold the arm.

If I expected to stop after buying a small wheel attachment I wouldn’t worry about it and buy the Ameribrade one. But would like to find a solution for the future.

One option might be to get 2” square tubing with .25” walls to step down to 1.5”. Something like:

I've found stainless 2" square tubing works great. It's normally a higher tolerance to square than mild structural steel.

Will probably try some of these suggestions. Thanks for them. Was hoping someone has done this before so I don’t waste money buying 1.5” arms that I can’t use.

I'd love to see some options that people have done to make this work.

I like the ameribrade grinder but I don't know if I like that 2inch arm.

I have heard of using a single piece angle iron/aluminum as a shim. It can be ground down on the outer side to get the needed fit. If the inside corner is too rounded for the tool arm, simply grind one corner on the tooling arm a bit rounder.
