I used to make a bunch of WWII miniatures but kinda lost interest for a while.
I still have the molds for some.

Some were functional but most were just for towing around behind other stuff.

Is it a "thing" for people to make functional (operable) scale models? A miniature PAK or other towed artillery piece would be ever-so-more amazing if it could chamber and fire a single .22 Long Rifle. The gun would most likely have to be registered on an ATF Form 1 as an "Any Other Weapon", however.

Anything using a cartridge in De. is a "modern" firearm.
Even worse, a barrel shorter than 16" makes it a handgun.

These were sold mail order. Not a model, the actual cannon! I believe the dealer was Ye Old Hunter AKA Interarmco and the price was $400, some time between 1960 and '62. They sold ammunition @ $5/round, AP and HE too!! Everything shipped to your door via REA.

Thanks for the memories, mcswood.

The US Army's equivalent was the 37 mm Gun M3. Norman Mailer's The Naked and the Dead had a fine description of dragging an M3 through the jungle. As I recall, they finally lost it in a creek.
