Put the 1/3 Panther on hold for now.
This Pz IV runs on a 12 volt system and
weighes in at about 175 lb. with the battery.
It's pictured with a 1/18 scale one to show the size.

The suspension is functional leafsprings.

The interior isn't detailed yet except for the hatches.

Thanks for looking,
Mike

Here's a short vid. of it running. Just the tracks are
powered for now. I have to get the turret motor gearing
worked out. The barrel is turned alluminum mounted
into a steel reciever and slide assembly.
I'll mill the reciever once I decide on a round.
I want a good bellowing sound, a decent recoil, good
muzzel flash and smoke (without blowing the turret off).

This isn't a kit? From your description, it sounds like you're building from scratch. In any case— WOW!

Here's a pic of the track drive setup and one of the motors in hand.

I've cheated on this one, so to speak.
This tank and the main drive assemblies are a kit.
The company was folding and this one was offered
to me at a price I couldn't resist (but should have).
I make minitures from scratch and figured this would be
a piece of cake. The supplied drive parts are mostly
alluminum and aren't very strong.
The kit by itself would be great if left on a (big) shelf
and just looked at. But running it as supplied would
reduce it to broken bits very quickly.

I'll stick to making my own from here out.
I make all moving parts from steel.
Right now this tank is sitting in the work shop with broken
drive gears. I'll rip it apart and rework the motor to sprocket
setup so that it can't happen again. Right now they meet at
a 90 degree angle with meshing gears.
I'll turn the motors sideways and have a chain final drive.
I knew the 90 degree gearing wouldn't last but decided to
leave it as supplied till it broke.
That took about 2 hours of run time.
