I am looking for a source of 1/8" material to make scales from. I'd prefer pieces about 5" x 1.5" because I don't have a band saw yet and the less I have to cut the better. I'm looking for a variety ranging from wood to micarta, faux ivory g10, CF, stabilized woods, etc...

I looked at Koval Knives but they were lacking in the 1/8" department.

Jantz Supply has some 1/8" material and so does Texas Knifemakers Supply. TKS has been agressively expanding their handle material supply.

Sheffield Knifemaker Supply, right there in Florida has a great range of micarta and G-10 materials in 1/8". I believe they are in DeLand,Fl They don't have a website but you can get their phone number from the classifieds in Blade magazine or Knive Illustrated. Good luck,

Mark, look up Sheffield's at the Florida Knifemaker's Association site. You will also find some knifemaker's in your area.Faustina Mead lives there and is an incredible scrimshaw artist. My family also lives there. My brother is the director of the Key Center in Lecanto.Good luck,Dave.

Dang! The Key center is less than a mile away from my house. I'm in the subdivision right across the hwy. I contacted Sheffield today and placed an order, they told me to expect it to arrive tommorow. Now that is service!

Thanks for recommending them to me.
