Hi folks. I recently acquired a 500 folder in nice condition - the blade has a stamp with 1 dot.

Does anyone know what the 1 dot signifies?

Flatlander - Thanks for the response. Sorry to recycle old questions but some things don't seem that relevant at the time, then you look at something you haven't encountered before and get curious.

The 500 is also one of my favourites - the first Buck knife I owned was a 500. I still have that knife - it has the script style model description and burgundy micarta scales. I bought it new in 1980 - the drop point style was all the rage at the time, particularly with hunters. I think the Loveless influence was strong then.

2many,Another Buck collector has a Bucklite 442 w/ the one dot stamping.I'm trying to remember what was discussed about that stamping.I think those were mfg.from 81-85, just before the year date stamps. But I'm not sure why they got that stamp instead of a 4 dot stamp.Maybe a transition.DM
