I just found a few old knives my son and I used when he was young and living at home. One was an old Buck 105 that he had almost ruined trying to sharpen with a Dremel. He also added texture (grooves) to the handle with the Dremel. He wasn't very handy with a Dremel tool. I recently purchased a Gatco Diamond Sharpening kit which revived the blade.
Another old Buck I found is at Idaho for repairs. I also found an old KaBar that was sent back for repairs and is being replaced.
Over the weekend I ordered the new Buck / Tops CSAR-t and am very excited about it. I have read most of what I have found here on the Buck / Tops knife. If any of you have it I would love to know what you think about it. I will probably want to add the old traditional hunter folding knife as well.

Welcome, congrats and attaboy for all that you've done. You are going to like it here:D. Preston

Another person with the Buck disease. Only thing you can do is buy more Bucks to satisfy the disease.

Welcome JWH, Glad you've aquired some Buck knives . Hope you enjoy them . What was the stamping on the knife that went to Idaho for repairs ? DM

Welcome, James! I am in the same boat, waiting for my CSAR-T to arrive. It is safe to say that you will be buying many more Bucks. You will want a Folding Hunter (110) and if you like a knife with heft and a 'silly sharp' blade, you will want to scope out a Folding Alpha Hunter. There are just so many great Buck knives to choose from! Enjoy your knife. :)

Welcome James,

I hope your able to post some pics of all 3 Bucks once they are all in hand:thumbup:

I love the Csar, I think you will too.

Thanks for the welcome. The one in for repairs was in inexpensive lockback with green plastic handle from WalMart. My son bought it about 20 years ago I think. It no longer locked up tight. I got a call from Buck CS yesterday saying it would be repaired.

The new Buck / Tops CSAR-T came in this afternoon. It is a beast. Fit and finish seem to be pretty good. Locks up like a vault. I actually had to open and close it a couple dozen times to get it where it was comfortable to close. It is a bit big for pocket carry but the sheath is nice and seems comfortable enough. When I get a chance to use it I will update this.
