Back in Febuary of last year I posted my desire to buy property, develope it and live the simple country life. Here's a link to that older thread: Investing in land. Well things were kind of rocky for me medicly last year so my savings account was depleted more then once. But my plan to get property and develope it never changed, it was just on a back burner. Well things have changed and it looks like a group of friends and I will be buying some land South of Provo this spring after taxes are taken care of.

I'm really excited about this and had to share.

Glad to hear that someone can afford what they want, in this economy. Congrats!

Me, I'm fixing to "green the city," when I get my own place: knock down some crappy structure, here in town, and put something a little more "natural" in the same place, even if I have to build it myself. I'm going to bring some of the country into the city, rather than move, since I don't have a car or truck, and I want to keep using my bike.;)

Good for you! I'm from the country and have always wanted to go back so getting some land out there is the thing for me to do. But if I was a city guy, I'd totally be doing what you want to do. :)

I've always had this worry that if enough people move to the country, they're won't be any left for me to visit! So, I have to stand and fight where I am.....so that others won't have to.

Anyway, thanks for the vote of confidence; this is a lot harder than it sounds.

Good for you , heber !!
I'm sure you'll get to live your dream, just keep it in sight.

Hi Heber, I went 'rural' over 20 years ago and have never regretted it.

I find living in a small town in the countryside minutes away from State Forests and farming & grazing lands lends itself to a more friendly, less stressful and reflective lifestyle.

The advantage to living in a village was that like Nicholas I rode a bike around for many years, and now that health issues prevent that there is still some limited public transport to get around on, avoiding the need for owning a motor vehicle.

Good luck on your dreams and making them real.
