I made this a thread of its own because this new video will likely get overlooked in my lanyard thread that has been around for a while. In this video, I compare the impact to a gallon jug of water of two monkeys fist lanyards, on contains a 1" steel ball and the other a 1.5" ball. I would imagine the impacts would be similar from a similar size rock from a sling as the techniques are similar and the speed generated would also be similar.

Where can you get steel balls like this? (sounds funny, but a serious question)...

Awesome vids.

As far as where to get steel balls like those, they are just ball bearings. Do a google search. You'll find a bunch.

That's pretty awesome but it looks like it can be dangerous to the user as well.

Possibly, I have one and hit me in the shin while testing on a medicine ball. It hurt. I've found is that you can stop the momentum from swinging, but ricochets are unpredictable. as long as you target isn't resilient there should be no problem.

Very cool! I always love it when I'm surprised by how well something works. Nice very nice.
