You guys are always talking exactly what the best this or that to carry is, I'll pose a similar question:
Situation:
You will spend 7 days/nights in triple canopy jungle. Multi-hour boat-ride from any sort of town. You will shelter in a very small village, sharing a thatch/bamboo hut with the locals. You will stay in this village or its vicinity the entire time. There is no store, concrete building, road or electricity in this village.
You're food will be a combination of what you bring and what they share with you. Or what you can harvest, catch, etc.
The village is situated right next to a very large river-your main water source.
After 7 days, the canoe comes back to pick you up and take you back to civilization (this isn't a survival situation).
You are allowed to carry 1 backpack and 1 small fanny pack or small belt pouch. Backpack capacity is 2,500 cu in.
QUESTION:
What gear do you bring to get you through the week as comfortably as possible, given the space constraints?
