1" Wide Contact Wheel?

Does anyone here grind with 1" wide contact wheels rather than the "standard" 2" contact wheels?

I recently tried a 1" wide contact wheel, and it seems to have definite advantages.

The 1" wide contact wheel seems to offer finer control and more efficient usage of belts.

I'm seriously thinking about buying a 14" version but wanted to get some opinions on this first.

A 1"wide wheel will definitely make inside curved cutting edges much easier to do.

That's actually why I initially tried the 1" wheel; for a tight recurve blade.

I am a flat grinder primarily, but I use a 1" wide wheel for karambits and sharpening. I have a 2" wide that sees no use.

I do know some guys who are doing all their grinding on a 1" and love it.
