Whatsup boys! Its been a while since i've posted knives, mainly because i'm lazy and hate taking pictures. once I make a knife it goes into a drawer waiting for bladeshow lol. The first knife I ever made was in september 2016 and I forged these two blades and finished them in the first two weeks of september 2017 to mark my first full year of making knives. Its been a super fun year and i'm going to keep at it! With each knife I make I hate all my previous ones. I see my eye for design changing and evolving (hopefully for better) and I feel like everytime I make a knife I can point out a million design flaws and where I can improve, which is tons of fun because it keeps me working hard.

So from my first small knife I forged with walnut handle scales to these subhilts, this is my one year progression.

P.s. I know the hamon is close to the edge but I finally figured out how to fix that. Ill post other knives I made where the pattern continues all the way to the tip. I was lucky enough to go to the new york knife show where I met Matt Parkinson and he told me to up my normalizing temp by 50 degrees and it completely fixed the problem. He told me i was losing hardenability which is why the hamon kept creeping down.
I have tested the blades chopping 2x4 and other wood like crazy and the knives perform perfectly with the convex edge they have.
I know my pics suck as usual but I wanted to just give a quick idea of what ive been up to. Still working on getting lights and a background for pictures.

Tell me what you guys think!!!

First blade is 10.5 inches long overall around 16 i think. Wrought iron guards and bog oak from burlsource. blade is covered in wax and oil so its all messy

Knife 2 is 11.5 inch cutting edge around 17 inch overall with cable damascus guards and bog oak handle
