I am a beginning collector and am very interested in custom knives. I am not interested in knives that are rare or no longer in production but am interested in knives I LIKE. I am more of a "tactical" knife kind of guy although I like a good traditional style if it is done well. The particular thing I am after is a maker that makes "tactical" knives or just simple functional pieces. I know there are many out there but I am looking for somebody with say 1 to 1.5 year turn around time. The reason for this is 1. that I can save up for an "expensive" custom. And 2. that I may get it sooner, IE: finding the maker 1 year from now and taking 2 years from now to get it.

I am also looking for what your personal experience has been on the turn around time of these makers:

Yeah, Gus, thats it. I also love his knives, and am strongly considering one. If you could call any knife my grail it certainly would be one of his.

I belong to NCCA with Chuck G. and have handled his knives at our shows. Very well made and a grea guy too.
