bought this off a dude at work. It's a native that says "1st generation BRK" on the smooth edge blade, 440A steel, made in Golden Colorado. it seems to be missing the pocket clip. Are the clips available?

You can get a clip from Spyderco for 5.00
As for the knife do a search for BRK Native.
They were made by Camilus through a screwed up deal that went bad.
They were selling for 20.00 to 30.00 new.

If you want alot of info on Spyderco knives, the link The Deacon, gave is an excellent place to start!!

Man I had to go to Wallyworld and snag a new one! They even had them marked wrong so it was $34.98 instead of 39.48. Gonna see if I can get the 1st Gen as sharp as the new Spyderco.....

You should be able to get the BRK just as sharp, and do so a whole lot easier than resharpening S30V, I've found 440A takes a wicked edge. Where you will notice a major difference is edge holding, the BRK Native will get dull long before the new one. You should also see a difference in the smoothness of operation, all the BRK Natives I've handled were very stiff compared with any of the "real" Spyderco versions, and of those, the S30Vs tend to be the smoothest of all.

Deacon, you nailed it. The BRK is very stiff indeed. The S30V, I can easily one hand it. I like them both and will probably keep the BRK for a truck of hunting bag knife. It will be fun comparing the blade steel properties over time.
