Got this Solingen blade which happens to be threaded 10-32, and I was hoping to finish it with silver-colored hardware, probably nickel silver (to match the guard).

One that's either tapped 10-32 or fits a 10mm tang nut, like the standard turned brass ones, would be fine. I could also drill a solid nickel silver pommel or look into electroplating a brass one, but those would not be my first choices.

Anyway, I know this is a long shot since I've had no luck finding one on the open web, but it seems worth asking.

Using a tap isn't that hard, especially in something soft like nickel silver.

Many of the knifemakers' supply houses sell pommels. There are also many on Ebay.
Or, you could thread your own.

Well, I know pommels are sold in many places. Just wondering if anyone happened to have seen one that fit the description of what I'm looking for, since I'm not having any luck. As I say, tapping would be a second choice.

Nickel silver pommels are sold many places. Is that what you are looking for?

Some kind of silver color -- nickel silver would be best, but anything with a silvery color (solid or plated) that's not soft pot metal would work -- and either tapped 10-32 or drilled to fit a 10mm tang nut.

Okay, if no one knows of anything, I'm leaning toward trying to nickel-plate one of those standard brass pommels.

Tapping nickel silver is like cutting butter, I don't understand why you're so determined to go about it the hard way🤷‍♂️

The only solid pommels suitable for tapping that I can find have circular cross sections, and my previous attempts at drilling solid circular pommels (gripping them in pliers) resulted in scratches on the sides that were too deep to polish out.

Use some rags in a vise. The rags will cushion the pommel and prevent scratches, while still maintaining a firm grip. Then it is already firmly held to tap the threads
