A month ago I bought a 105lbs of raw Black Ash Burl. By raw, I mean it came in 5 big lumps still in the bark cut off the tree. One burl piece was 55lbs! I spent several hours trimming out the good burl and ended up with 35lbs of some awesome wood. I sent it to WSSI to get stabilized and I've been waiting on it so I could finish this knife. It's 10" OAL and the blade is 5 1/2" tip to bolster and a stout 0.20" thick. I put in just a hint of a trailing point in the blade. The steel is CPM154 I heat and cryo treated to 59/60RC. It's mirrored all the way. The bolsters are concave in the back with finger relief sculpting on both sides. One rear pin is all that is needed since the front of the scale is locked in place by the bolster.
Thanks for looking...

The burl came up great!

Some of my fondest memories as a young lad was hiking in and cutting burls near Mt. St. Helens in WA with my grandfather.

This is why. Birdseye anything is just stunning.

Great work.

I bought this incredible knife. It is truly a work of art, in my opinion. Thanks, Tracy!
Best regards,
Allan
