My Grandfather recently died and both of us collected pocket knives so I was the one who ended up getting the collection. There were hundreds of knives so it has taken me a while to go through all the boxes. Last night I came across this Case 06247 pen knife. This is the type of knife that I like for my daily carry so I was thinking about cleaning it up a little and using it. Once I realized that it was from 1970 I was wondering if this is a knife that I should put back up in the collection or just use it because I like it. I can tell that he carried it some as we are both the same in that unless it was some sort of collectors knife we usually bought stuff that we liked to carry. Let me know what you think. I did not look at all of them as I got very distracted by this one but there were several Case knives that had the same handle and looked as though he bought the whole collection of this style at once. I just joined this forum so if anyone can tell me how to add a picture as an attachment I'll add the photos 😅

Clean it up if you want, and absolutely carry it. Being your grandfather's knife will make it that much more special. Take care of it, and you can pass it on to your grandson someday.

Has it already been used? If so, continue using it in good health.

Collectors like their knives minty and untouched.

It has been used. I have no plans of selling any of them. I just like having them. Thank you!

Sorry for your loss. I would vote to carry it and cherish his memory.

I found a thread you had on this knife back in 2020, should have read that first. Thanks for the help.

In my opinion your question warrants a new thread.
