I must fully concur, Cecil is one of the finest people I've come across in a long long time.
Some time ago he told me to design a knife, well... I drew up several of them and the pic below is of the three "finalist's". The current intention is to add the large knife to his other standard offerings in your choice of handle material etc... Right now, the large one is a prototype (knife at top, actual photo), made of Paul Bos heat treated CPM420V and ground thinner for chipping and durability (toughness) testing. Again, this one is a prototype and isn't intended to be "pretty" or perfect, the grinds were even changed 1/2 way through. We simply want to see what kind of punishment the 420V can take in a large knife. If it holds up well, 420v will probably be a standard steel used for that knife as well as CPM3V and Cecil's favorite - O-1.
The final version should come out looking exactly like the drawing (2nd down)
I should have the proto in hand in about a week.
Right now, no one knows what will be done with the smaller knives (2 bottom knives), the 2nd one up from the bottom is being finished up right now for my personal use, and more may be made.
The very bottom knife has attracted quite a bit of interest and will probably be coming down the pike pretty soon... as soon a Cecil gets caught back up
