10 months of waiting and she's here

Hello all. Early 2014, I began looking around the Internet for a left handed small Sebenza 21 inlay, preferably the Gabon Ebony (I love the dark wood). I noticed they were really hard to find, so I called CRK directly and asked if they had any in stock. They said they didn't that I could request an order for one with my preference without a deposit. I quickly requested for a small left hand Sebenza 21 with Gabon Ebony inlay. They said it can take up to 4 months. After I didn't hear from them after 5-6 months, I figured the order never went through. I moved on with other knives. Up until last week, 10 months later I get a call from Heather. She described my order from 10 months (probably thinking I forgot about it which I did) and said its been made and ready to ship! I couldn't believe it went through! I asked why it took so long. She said its because left handed small Sebenza inlays are just never in demand that since Feb 2014, only 6 has been made, including mine.

I couldn't miss out on the rare opportunity to have it in my hands. At first I wasn't too attached to the idea of forking that much money for a knife. Obviously I had that emotional attachment back in April 2014 when I ordered it, but 10 months have gone by that the desire diminished. After thinking about it for a day, and only using my overtime money and selling off some gear, I went for it. And I'm glad I did!

Two days later it was in my hands. It was everything I wanted and imagined when I ordered it. And it has all the characteristics of what makes it a Chris Reeve Knife. Elegantly simple, yet quietly dangerous. Not to mention it is pure timeless. I love the black wood accented with the gold thumbstud and spacer. I wanted a knife that my boys can remember me using during their whole childhood until adulthood. I also wanted a knife I can have until I die that I can pass on to them (I might need a second one to pass to my second boy whose 2 y/o lol). I love the lifetime warranty and the ability to get it refurbished anytime for as long as I own the knife. And last, my favorite part about the knife is having the sheer ability to simply disassemble the knife, clean it, and have it reassembled EXACLTY the way you received it from the factory. I'm a happy camper. Cheers.

Nice sentiment!

I am glad that you picked it up. If you did not, you would be kicking yourself in the arse any day now. Beautiful!

I def would've sold myself short had I not given myself a chance to at least look at it. If at that time I had decided to sell it, I'm sure someone would've paid more for what I got it for. But it's staying with me. :)

Left Handed models are hard enough to come by, love that one, you did good.
They do come up here from time to time, I was able to snag a small regular small from here. That's just another reason to be a fanboy of CRK's, they make LH knives. I know I'm one for that reason.
