cnc does suck.... I stick to the manual mill work, makes the time go by a little bit faster.

TELEMARKETER!!!
Minimum wage, odd hours, petty tyrant supervisors, and customers that don't like you.

Been there, done that, will shovel fertilizer before I do that again.

Oh noo!! Im studying to become cnc machinist!!!!!;)

Been there done that and still have most of my fingers. A little career hint. Do not... I repeat... do not let management bully you into disabling shields and/or light curtains/safety mats. Just... don't... do it.

This has to be one of the worst jobs.

There are certainly some jobs that naturally suck worse than others, but in my experience, it's the boss and colleagues that make a job truly suck... or rock. A good, supportive boss and colleagues who make an effort to welcome and accept you can create an environment that makes people happy and proud to work there, regardless of how naturally sucky the job is.

The opposite seems to be true, too. A job that is naturally great can be made to suck by a monster boss and bad colleagues.

Roustabout at a vegetable oil refinery. To this day I still have trouble eating some foods. Smell is the most powerful of memory triggers... I prefer being an electronics technician.

My job isn't present either. Is it the perfect job? Maybe not but what is? I'm as happy as could be asked for, I guess. FWIW all those jobs either sound too broad to be a single job title or pretty decent, but I suppose YMMV

Agree with you... I hate telemarketers ! :D

I'm a CNC Machinist, and I like my job.

Actually, I now fly a desk, supervise, and buy all the machine tools and equipment.

I miss running a machine, sometimes, but I'm so busy now the day just flies by.

Those are all GREAT jobs that are indoors, out of the freezing cold, during regular M-F 9-5 hours and pay WELL over minimum wage.

I have worked MANY worse jobs than that, as have many folks I've known over the years. People who work in those jobs just seem to complain the loudest . . . and blog about it.

9 to 5 as a machinist?

I don't think so.

Our shop was open 24/7 before the economic downturn. Now we run 2 shifts 5 days a week. I work from 6AM to 2:30PM.

get into a full body suit that does not breath with a mask inside of a polly contained area not airconditioned for four hours at a time for only 14 $ an hour.

I hate my job this time of the year. Hauling 11,000 gallons of gas over snow and ice covered passes 5 days a week wears me down. Plus I usually get to look forward to chaining up the truck 70-90 times a winter...
Usually leave for work between 11 and noon, and get home between midnight and 2 a.m. Still feel fortunate to have a job though

I was a muck jumper during high school summer vacation. It was not a good job but it paid fifty cents and hour.

I used to be a bill collector - that was pretty miserable. Now I'm unemployed and looking for a job. I still haven't decided which is worse.
