Two 7" diameter x 1/4" thickness grinding discs from an angular/hand grinder.

I place them together on a bench grinder, and with the aid of the supporting piece, I can work safely using leather gloves to keep the blade pressed enough to get a fast rough grinding.

Blade after the rough grinding, showing the swedge. I do the fine grinding after the HT.

Adjust for the places where the micarta handles will go later (I use both hands, but I was helding the camera for the pics)

Great post,Ariel-I love seeing the work in progress pics! Thanks for sharing:thumbup:

I love the way you use what you have to create these beautiful pieces ,no mills or such, just using that brain:D:thumbup::thumbup:Butch

That is looking freaking cool. I am impressed with the level of mirror finish you put on before etch. You could have just about left it like that for a dang good looking knife. It does look better with the etch.

Your level of talent and ability is simultaneously awe-inspiring and depressing. ;)

Outstanding

Going from the pic of the mirror polished blade to the etched piece actually had a emotional effect on me. Just amazing
