I may not be the most active member anymore, but I just looked over at my profile, and noticed that I've entered my second decade here at BF! Back when I had joined, I had just bought the, then new, Benchmade Stryker, and thought that was a huge investment. Also for the first few months, I recall BF giving away a free knife a month, which is probably why I joined so quickly

I just wanted to thank Spark and the crew for making this all possible.

Congrats on the Decade of Membership! What have you purchased as of late? (Ten years later)... ~kevin~

Congratulations!

I too have not been the most active as of late... shouldn't have bought a house 2 years ago!

It is interesting to think about how much knives have changed. I joined 9 years ago and my first good knife was a Benchmade AFCK. Liner-locks were the way to go and we all thought they were the best thing ever. ATS-34 was state of the art too!

I remember those contests too, and the articles that were posted by the forums too. Neat stuff.

One thing that I find really interesting to me is that my interest in knives becomes less about the knives and more about the people as time passes. Events like the passing of Rob Simonich and Vampire Gerbil mean more to me than any super cool knife. My wedding ring was made by Kit Carson's daughter, I got to show some of my work to Mick Strider and he thought it was as cool as "BLEEP" and I made a knife for a forumite's wife who was a LEO and I have never make a knife more seriously than than one.

Great post amacks and I'll see you around in another 10 years.

I'm also a member of another vBulletin style forum PCMech.com and I just happened to notice a guy had posted his 10,000th post/reply so I saved a screenshot of it. I emailed it to him and he was super duper greatful. Pretty funny...
