This is one of the worst cases of trademark infringement, counterfeiting,& name stealing yet,& it comes direct from the crooks who make it ; GUNBROKER.COM ; Auction # 56107882 :barf: :thumbdn: :jerkit:

Naw, the site isted in the post is an auction site itself.
However, the auction # he posted brings up a fixed blade buck strider. As far as I know, buck was licensed to make those. Unless he means the seller, zgs_2006 (located in china) is selling counterfeit buck knives made in china.

The actual site that it is on is gunbroker.com they have e-bay style auctions there.

The location of the auction is china, but other than that there is nothing to lead anybody to believe that it is not a real Strider. It would seem that they are implying that they are in fact selling an actual Strider. I suppose somebody could emial the seller and see what he says.

Personally I don't think the real striders should be priced much higher than $100 bucks anyway. Considering that it is just a machined piece of S30V with a 10 cent handle.

That a whole different thread though. :D

This is pointing out the obvious but....

The BT isnt a buck, none of the collaboration fixed blades look like that, and unless its an old gen one, the grooves for your thumb rest look too shallow (compared to mine anyway)

So either
A) that person is showing a pic of the wrong knife
b) they are intentionally misleading you as to it being a BT
c) its a knock off.

My 2 cents.

Its well worth it :D

Have you ever owned a strider?

Striders S30V has a completley different feel to it. As your god is my witness strider S30V is a different steel altogether. I dont know what bos does to it but its friggin solid.

Striders are great knives and well worth the money.

He probably means that he doesn think a piece of S30V with some Chord wrap and a tac sheath is worth it. I own striders and they take some abuse, however I am more inclined to thier folders.

Oh i got his meaning im just asking if he has ever owned one of those cordwrapped models such as the BT, one of my all time favorite designs :D

Since AFAIK Paul Bos does the HT for Buck (and custom knifemakers), I think it's safe to say that it's the same as Buck's S30V. ;)

Paul Bos no longer does heat treats for strider, Strider uses his in house set up though, but he is not personally involved.

I would agree with Razor, Strider's S30v does seem like a different steel altogethor compared to otehr s30v knives i have. It has a distinct finish and feel to it, not to mention the monstrous strength. lol.

I have an SnG and its an awesome knife, can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on one of there fixed blades though.

If I wanted a 8"-12" knife with no handle (blade/full tang only), I am sure I could get a tons of custom makers to make one out of S30V (or a more appropriate steel for that type of knife) to my own personal specs for less than $300. And I could have them send it to Bos for the heat treat too, I think he does a whole lot of peoples anyway. I'll buy 50ft of parachord for $3 and wrap the handle myself.

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Strider, but anybody can see that their paracord hadled knives are way over priced.

I think that these are just cheap knockoffs, who knows what the blade material really is on the knives this place is offering.sorry for the bad link on this. saw it on gunbroker.com, under the knife section.the auction number was 56107882...

where can you get 50 foot of paracord for 3$ ? i need to clean up on that!

Edit : some people will actually pay more for a paracord wrap, and even more people prefer paracord to g10 or any other type of scale/slab. this guy included.

Yes, that would be a good price, but 50 ft for $6 is easy enough to find.

Me too, cheap enough at the PX. I certainly wouldn't pay more for a cordwrap handle. Doesn't use any in shop equipment and doesn't take more time or skill than a properly contoured slab.

Last time I bought some Paracord, it was $7 for 100'

I buy all of my black, tan and OD from 1SKS. They have commercial paracord for $5/100'. It has the 7 inner strands and for all practical purposes there is little difference between it and the MilSpec, except price

:D:D
