Yesterday I bought two new Anniversary Bucks. A 110 and a 119. They were display models at an Ace Hardware and came with cardboard boxes, pins and sheaths. Since I bought them at Ace I had to pay list price for them  .

Are these going to be collectible? Should I leave them in their boxes or go ahead and use them?

They aren't that rare and don't have exotic scales or steel so I would think you would get the most out of them by using them. You have two of the most superbly useful knives in existence there. IF I didn't have both of them I would be envious.

Interesting - I got my 100th Annivsary 110 from Canadian Tire here in Calgary and it was in a clamshell. It was the only one left and the demo but I grabbed it anyway :) The guy behind the counter was pretty good - he gave me a couple of the pins as well :D Because I have another 110, this one doesn't get used.

There are some of us that believe that knives are meant to be used. One would have to be pretty rare for me put it away and not to use it. I use all of mine to some degree, but just make sure that I maintain all of them in good condition. I have a 110 that is 37 years old and a 112 that is 35 years old and both of them look like new (ok, the 110 has a few dents in the bolsters, but I was younger then!) :D :D

you ask a hard question!!!
i have several of the 100 year knives and none used if they have the inset on side. i have one with the anvel stamp on blade and no inset i used. i am trying to collect more of the anvil stamp knives and not useing them any more myself. suprisingly there were not as many made as the next year i dont think (some correct me if i am wrong) but you are NOT seeing them on ebay hardly at all! lots of the ohter years but not anvil stamp even with plain handles! oh beaware there are 100 year knives with emblum that do not have 2002 stamp! so far i know of 4 .

The 110 has the emblem on the handle. The 119 has the inscription on the blade. They both have the anvil date code. I guess that I'll hold on to them for a while.

I have plenty of 110s but no 119. I might have to pick up another one to use. :)

Look in the various places where vintage knives are sold and auctioned. See what they are worth... Someday yours will be vintage.

If you want a user, 110's are about $27 bucks and 119's are about $40 bucks at Wally.

I have two I picked up at WalMart.110's One Hundredth Anniversary's,came in the tin with the pin,Emblems in wood handles.Went back the next day to pick up another one for a user and conversion to auto.None left, and there were seven that I saw left the day before. They musta' had a run on them.Anywho, kept the first two wrapped in original plastic wrap, couldn't find anyone reliable to do the conversion and found one on Ebay for 163.Will keep originals that way. They are Hundredth Anniversary 110's. :)
