Victorinox the makers of the "Original" Swiss Army Knife commemorated 100 years at least 3 times in 1984, 1991 and 1997.

1984 - I have this Knife (book:D)

I don't have a commemorative SAK - does anyone know if there was one?

So what were Victorinox celebrating?

Well 1884 was when Victorinox the company was founded.

and this extract from the 100 year book above should explain the other 2 100 years:

1891 was the first SAK "Soldiers'" knife
1897 was the first SAK "Officiers'" knife
