Ok I've got $100 and I'm looking for a good EDC' er. I'm not a new knife user, I've always appreciated and looked after my blades but I am a rank amateur when it comes to steel etc, I know of aus8 and sv30 but that's about it.

I own a SOG Pup, BM Mini grip tanto, CRKT Ripple (Walmart version) and a Kershaw Tanto Blur.

General EDC usage is what I'm after, thought about holding out for a cryo II but ... sooooo many choices

For under 100, nothing is a better edc for me than a Spyderco Stretch. Im sure you'll get some prettier blade that everyone else suggests though...

Hmmm looked at both, so far the manix xl looks promising mainly due to its size ( large hands )

The hunt continues

Pretty, meh, I like the profile of the stretch and it looks lightweight, I'm drawn to the ergonomic handle of the XL quite a lot tho

I would go with a paramilitary 2 . You can find one around that price on the exchange.

Yeah, you just have to be patient. I found Paramilitary 2 on sale for $101 shipped. That said, I am still waiting for it to get back in stock.

Paramilitary 2 all the way.
I have both the Manix 2 and the PM2, and it seems like the PM feels more solid in the hand,
It's just a more enjoyable knife for me to use.

Paramilitary 2 is a great choice. You mentioned you were waiting for the Cryo II...check out the Kershaw Knockout or Piston as well I've heard good reviews about both.

Kershaw: Leek (Composite Blade or S30V), Blur (S30V or Carbon Fiber w/ CPM-154), Skyline (might be able to pick up the BladeForum edition for around $100), Zing, OD-1, Random Task, Junkyard Dog 2.2

Spyderco: Delica4 FFG, Endura4 FFG, Dragonfly, Stretch (all these come in ZDP-189 as well, although I think the Delica and Endura are saber-grind instead of FFG)

Benchmade: Griptilian or Mini-Griptilian w/ drop-point (551 & 556) or hollow-ground sheepsfoot (550HG & 555HG) blade

Buck: Vantage Pro (large or small)

SOG: Flash, Flash II, Aegis

Victorinox: Super Tinker, Compact, Explorer Plus, One-Handed Trekker

Leatherman: Wave, Charge ALX, Skeletool CX

Spyderco PM2 or you should be able to find a Superleaf for that price if you look around. Or you could go with 2 knives. You should be able to find a Kershaw Knockout and a R.A.M. if you look hard enough. I found my Knockout on sale for $45 shipped and a R.A.M. for about $50 shipped.

all the above recommendations are pretty good, for $55 you can get a Kershaw JYD Blem from Kershawguy. I think that's one of the best knife deals around. Might not like the clip though.

Ok, I think I'm in trouble, I've looked at every single knife suggested and I want all of them ......
