Congrats to onejim post #56. I'm guessing you didn't see that you won yet so I moved this to page one.
email me @ gmd19k[at]yahoodotcom

So the other day I started thinking that I should look for a give away item for my 1000'th post. Not realizing I had already gone over 1000. Not sure how I missed it but none the less here it is. This has been such a great forum and I can't even describe how much I have learned and how many great people I have met. I figured since over half of my 1000 have been in the Becker sub-forum I would give them the home field advantage.

And here she is.

Your very own stick!!!!!!

Now I know most of you know the versatility of a tool like this so I wont babble on about the unlimited number of ways that this tool can become an essential part of your kit. For those that don't know, you can do things like poke other things, stir things, hold down one corner of a tent, scratch the center of your back, play fetch with fido, for you bushcraft wizards, you can make a figure 1 deadfall; the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. Now this is a GAW so don't expect the best stick money can buy. This one, assuming my calculations are correct, has a half life of 2,500 pokes. Not bad considering it's free.

Here it is in hand for size reference.

You should take note of the perfect ergo's on this one. It almost melts in the hand like butter.

I know you are all squirming in your seats right now so here's how this will work. If you want a chance at this fine tool then just post something below, doesn't matter what, and I will use a random number generator to pick a winner. Going to let this one run until the 5th of July.

Oh. Forgot to mention it comes with some accessories.

Not that you're going to need them but it also comes with ~10' of glow in the dark paracord in case you want to wrap the handle, a BNIB Becker BK-15, and some handles for the 15 that are just an experiment that I have no need for because my other two 15's already have handles. Keep'em, toss'em; up to you.

Ok, I'll go first haha

ETA: Gah, first never wins...
I was replying while you added the real prize lol.
Thanks for the chance tanker, and good luck folks!
ETA: What material is the stick made from? The first thing I'd do is strip it then make some custom micarta bark and burly maple scales..

A stick with tweener handles?!? I'm down for that.

I need to go through my crap, I'm over due for a 5000-post GAW.

OohOohOH! Stick! I am SO in. Gratz on blathering your way to 1000.
I <3 me some stick.
Reminds me of a joke. Do you know what's brown and sticky?

A stick!

Holy shnikes! This is perfect..i have been searching for that exact stick for 20 years..i lost it when i was a boy..being a little wild and irresponsible my grandpa warned me to treat it right and it will be my best friend for life..i remeber the day i lost it.. was august 1st 1995, 10 days before my 21st birthday. I lived in a small town named Doofus, in arkansas. Nothing to do in Doofus, but play with sticks..and little timmy 9 toes had a beauty of a stick. well to make a long story short..i wanted his..i traded him my ford f150 for it..and it was a great stick the whole time i used that stick i left my grandpas stick on the porch..i guess it got jealous and left or maybe Mr.9 toes took it..anyway i realized my grandpa was right..MY stick was the best..and since that day i searched the heavens and hell for that..im SOO glad you found it and willing to return it to me...ohhh and that Becker thingy is cool too..ill let my dog play with it.

That schtick looks the shiz! In on one. Thanks for the chance Tank. Not sure if my hands are calloused enough to handle it though. Plus, I left my truck running..

Nice stick. Every camping trip or hike with my two boys, usually involves some time looking for a nice stick.

I'm in for that stick, and heck, with the Knife, we can get two more sticks, one for each son.... because a stick that nice might cause contention.

When I was a kid I always wanted a Log, but my parents said I'd shoot my eye out.
I guess a stick would make up for it. I'm in!

This is hilarious. So in on this. But if I win I seriously better get that stick - I have plans for it.... [emoji6]

I'm in but want to make sure...is the stick pictured the actual stick in the GAW or is it just representative? Didn't want to get my hopes up too much in case it's not the actual one.

You had me at the stick!

Definitely in. Still don't have a 15 yet but right now I really REALLY need a new stick but the wife won't let me spend the money on one. Life is so unfair...

Hmmm, stick 'eh? Bet with those extra handles I could make it a tactical stick...something makes me think that a tactical version would be better for combat purposes :D

Also, seems to me this "stick" thing may be made by the same company who makes this fine product.

I am not usually one for "Safe Queens", but if I won that stick, it would be my first. What wonderful craftsmanship.
Thank you for the opportunity Tank and congrats on the 1000+ posts. I am in.

"something below"

Now on to more serious questions - how does the stick handle batoning? That would be my first priority on this one.

Also, and unrelated to the stick prize, what exactly does GAW stand for? Because "Give Away" just doesn't make any cents (see what I did there?)

I'm glad you included the in hand photo. The stick was actually much smaller than I thought than it was after I saw the first photo.

Also, is it true that the bark material is rather soft and slippery? I'd "imagine" that over time, the bark would smooth out, and you would hardly be able to keep it in your hand. Imagine what would happen if that stick flew out of a childs hand into your FACE?!? Eyes == GONE!

If I win, I'll practice some bushcrafty stuff on the stick, and probably gift the 15 to a lifelong friend (I already have a 15). However, my 15 is missing a set of scales (friend lost the spare set :/).

Grats on the 1000 :).

I got to admit that my first thought was that of public safety and what ocnLogan mentioned about flying sticks.. I mean, just look at that eye gouger!

Since I already got one 15.. give the knife to someone who deserves to try one.. and for the love of all that is holy.. Burn that stick!
